Install a Wireless Card

Install a Wireless Card in a Ricoh SP C811DN Printer

The Ricoh Aficio SP C811DN business printer has a number of add-on cards that can be purchased for it. One of these is an 802.11b wireless card, which allows wireless laptop computers to send jobs to the printer without the need to be physically connected. Install a wireless card for your Ricoh Aficio SP C811DN to eliminate the need for users to be connected to the printer or print server.
Touch a bare metal object to discharge any built-up static electricity, or wear a wrist grounding strap. Turn off and unplug the printer, then turn the printer around so that you are looking at the metal expansion slot covers on the back.
Remove the two screws securing an expansion slot cover, then remove the cover from the printer. Slide the outer housing for the wireless card into the expansion slot until it is firmly in place, then use the attached screws to secure the housing to the back of the printer. The housing contains a smaller slot for the wireless card to slide into.
Align the antenna attachment for the wireless card so that the textured portion of the antenna faces down and the sticker on the wireless card faces up. Push the antenna onto the wireless card until it snaps into place. Push the wireless card into the slot in the housing until you can feel the connector engage. The card should be oriented so that the label sticker on the wireless card faces right.
Snap the antenna cover over the back of the wireless card. The card is now ready to use.
